EXCERPT

“Why are you moving bedrooms?”

Again, she attempted to cross her arms but failed. A habit she seemed to have when annoyed. Well, he was annoyed too, still not pleased that she had been discussing him with his mother.

“Because I can, and because I want to. I love the view,” she told him.

“Oh.” She was right, of course. He checked his watch. “How about I return around four-thirty?”

“Great.” She beamed. “If you’re feeling less grumpy by then, I’m more than happy to share some of my homemade cannelloni with you.”

Her unexpected invitation threw him momentarily, but he considered it. Homemade cannelloni? All he had at home was leftover stew from his mother that he’d been eating for the past three days. Just because he had something to eat here, didn’t mean he had to engage in a conversation with her.

“Deal.”

He couldn’t believe he accepted the invitation, but the surprise on her face made it worth it.

Some inherit money. Mallory inherited secrets…

Mallory O’Neill swaps the buzz of Melbourne for the quiet shores of Anahera Bay, New Zealand, hoping for a fresh start… not secrets and surprises. But the crumbling seaside cottage left to her by Sofia—the grandmother she never knew—holds more than just dust and disrepair. It holds the key to a family history her late mother never spoke of.

As Mallory pieces together Sofia’s past, she faces the doubts of old friends and the arrival of an unexpected stranger. Along the way, she finds friendships among the locals, but she also meets resistance from the brooding handyman, Cameron Quinn, a man haunted by his own past.

When faded letters, old photographs, and buried truths come to light, Mallory and Cameron find themselves drawn together by grief, memory, and a spark neither of them expected.

The discovery of her mother’s diaries unravels a secret which sends Lani on a journey to New Zealand …

She lost her mother in an accident. Now,
Lani Dekker is determined to meet the man who, according to her mother’s diaries, is her father. He’s not what she expected, a bit on the extravagant side, but she soon warms up to him, thanks no less to Dylan, her father’s neighbour. Despite her attraction to Dylan, she can’t figure out whether he’s a friend or foe.

Dylan Harper is merely going through the daily motions after his wife died in a ski crash. That is, until his life is turned upside down by the arrival of his neighbour’s daughter. Their attraction is instant, even more so when they wake up in the same bed after an earthquake. However, it’s her accusation that his interest in her involves her father’s money rather than their mutual magnetism that derails their newfound bond.

Will finding the truth about her parents be a chance for Lani and Dylan to overcome their differences?
