I live next door.” He turned to look at her as if he expected more. “My house was flooded during the last dump of rain. Forgot to clean the gutters. Your grandmother’s lawyer agreed for me to stay here until the end of the week.” “Why?” She clenched her jaw to kill the frustration inside. “Because my house was flooded.”
